2. Preparing For My Trip to New York City

Hello, everyone! I'm back. Today I am going to be talking to you about my upcoming trip to New York City and how to the preparation for it is going.

Well, first of all, let me tell you the reason that I am going. I am going as part of the National Youth Leadership Forum for Medicine program. I will be learning about medicine as well as learning how to practice it. Some of the activities that I saw in the draft schedule were going to lectures given by physicians, doing emergency medicine workshops, medical career planning, learning about life as a resident, improving clinical skills, etc. I was able to choose from various different host cities for the program. Among them were Washington, D.C.; Atlanta, Georgia; Los Angeles, California; Boston, Massachusetts; Houston, Texas; and, of course, New York City, New York. I've always dreamed of going to New York City and hope to one day live there, so it was a sort of no brainer choosing New York City as my host city. I honestly cannot wait! I can't wait to see the city! Although, we won't get much tourism time at all. We only get a couple hours on a specific day, but still just the fact that I am there. Also, we'll be driving a lot to and from places, so I'll be able to see some of the city! One of the things that I definitely do plan on doing during our tourism time is to go to the Line Friends store in Times Square. A friend of mine that went to the same program last year said that the program lets us shop and look around in Times Square, so that is perfect because the Line Friends store is in Times Square! I can't wait to be able to see and hopefully purchase some BT21 products! It is going to be so hard choosing because I love all of the characters: Van, Ta Ta, Mang, RJ, Koya, Shooky, Cooky, and Chimmy! Also, I'm probably not gong to have that much money to spend on souvenirs and cute things like that, so I'm going to have to be careful with my money! Last time I checked the website, it said that we would get five and a half hours, so that will be plenty of time for me to torture myself by looking at all the BT21 merchandise that I can't have!!

Anyways, by the time this post goes up, I will probably be doing some last minute packing, and the next day, I will be on the plane! I wanted to share with you guys the things that I am doing to prepare for my trip. Well, since Delta airlines limits the free carry-on to 22x14x9, I got a nice 22x14x19.5 suitcase from Gordman's, and, hopefully, Delta won't make a big deal about the .5. I will make sure to try and find a picture of it on the Gordman's website to show you. Anyways, that is what I'll be using to pack all of my things into. The Envision program has a bit of a strict dress code. By that, I mean that we have to wear "Professional" attire on some mornings or afternoons, "Relaxed Professional" attire on some morning or afternoons, and "Casual" attire on some mornings or afternoons. I almost had a breakdown when I found that out because I had already bought several cute outfits from Dillard's, and the dress code eliminated just about all of them. Luckily, I found some nice things to wear after I raided my closet. I wasn't planning on taking much anyways since my suitcase is so small, so it wasn't too hard to find enough things to wear. Besides clothes, I'm also going to take a pouch filled with mini shampoos, conditioners, body wash, toothpaste, and mouthwash. Then, in another little pouch, I am going to take my makeup. I don't plan on taking too much makeup since I'm really only going to need it twice. I will likely just take foundation, concealer, blush, bronzer, a small eyeshadow palette, a nude lipstick/liquid lipstick, mascara, an eyelash curler, and a tinted moisturizer and tinted lip balm  for the days that I don't wear makeup...Well, I guess I might need a bigger makeup pouch. I also plan on taking another little pouch filled with facial cleanser, facial moisturizer, body moisturizer, deodorant, hair products, and a hair brush. Basically, I will split it up into clothes, makeup, and hygiene, and I'll split the hygiene category into two subcategories: travel-size products and other hygiene products. Lastly, the program recommends taking a laptop or tablet, so I decided to take both my laptop and my brother's tablet just in case.

I will try to put in pictures of all the things I am going to take, and how they end up fitting into my suitcase. Thank you so much for reading this! I send you well wishes, and, hope you send me well wishes while I'm on my trip, too! Lots of love and blessings!!

Sincerely,

A Teenage Girl
